Thrift shop worker

Agency that finds permanent homes for abandoned animals needs help in its nonprofit thrift shop. Help needed with sorting, pricing, sales, displays. Four to eight hours a week desired; time flexible.


Local food bank needs help answering phones and with mailings. Four-hour shift per week (9 a.m.-1 p.m. or 10 a.m.-2 p.m.); training provided.

Machine shop mentor

Share your experience with lathes, milling machines, etc. skills with young people. Several volunteers needed one or two weekday mornings.

Museum docent, tour docent

A love of Grass Valley history and of antiques will be helpful in giving tours and repairing vintage clothing at this museum. Orientation and supervision provided.
