As the population of Nevada County has expanded in the last 20 years, the desires of the voting majority have changed as well. The NID board only has Nancy Weber to represent the new majority. Ron Mathis is the head of the Nevada County Land Trust and would help her represent the majority of the residents. He has good management experience, and he has lived in the area long enough to know how special it is. Please vote for Ron Mathis for the District 2 NID Board seat.

The Grass Valley Fire Fighters Association has unanimously voted to support Vice Mayor Patti Ingram and Councilmember Gerard Tassone for re-election to the Grass Valley City Council. Both incumbents have shown unwavering support and dedication in providing emergency fire protection and medical first-response services to the citizens of Grass Valley. They have also been very supportive in providing the equipment and staffing to give the Fire Department the resources to provide an excellent level of service to its citizens and visitors.

Join with us in re-electing Patty and Gerard to City Council.

I would like to encourage everyone to vote for Jerry Martin for Grass Valley school board. I have known Jerry for 18 years. I admire and respect him for his long-term commitment to improving the quality of the educational process. For the last 16 years, Jerry has researched and formulated a program meant to enhance the learning experience through the use of active video in the classroom. He gives regular seminars to teachers and has published a textbook on effective use of camcorders in the classroom. He is an educator himself, with a long dedication towards the betterment of our schools and children.

Only one candidate for NID has 25 years of unblemished professional financial management experience, including working with 30 California water districts. While president of the Nevada County Land Trust (NCLT), this man demonstrated fairness, objectivity and ability to work with all interests: farming, ranching, suburban, rural, business, government. (NCLT works with willing landowners, and never by coercion.)

Support Ron Mathis for director, NID Division 2: Southern Alta Sierra, Cedar Ridge, Peardale, Chicago Park!

NID is a large business now. The other candidates’ livelihoods as farmer and former water-plant mechanic are not enough preparation or experience for director-level responsibility.
