Van offers senior services

The InfoVan, with information about resources for seniors, caregivers, the disabled and grandparents raising grandchildren, is making the rounds.

Staffed by HelpLine Information & Assistance, the van is visiting senior residences, grocery stores, senior centers, senior and caregiver events and other locations where older people and caregivers might be found.

When the InfoVan visits, a HelpLine staff member will distribute brochures and flyers about community services and ways to stay healthy and independent.

HelpLine, a program of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, provides free referrals and information regarding services in the community.

The InfoVan will visit these locations:

— Wednesday: Long Drugs, 12005 Sutton Way in Grass Valley, noon to 4 p.m.

— May 25: Growers Market, Nevada County Fairgrounds, Gate 4, 9 a.m. to noon.

— May 28: Forum on elder abuse and fraud, Grass Valley United Methodist Church, 236 S. Church St., 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

To schedule an InfoVan visit or obtain information on upcoming appearances, call HelpLine at 273-2273.
