Unnerving sight

If you have ever driven State Highway 49 past the Brunswick off-ramp, you know what I am talking about. On a regular basis, there are several mangled vehicles from car accidents around Nevada County parked behind the local CHP office. I drive by the lot where these vehicles are parked and I can’t help thinking of the victims’ families and friends. Being a wife, daughter and sister myself, I reflect on the former passengers of those vehicles. To pass by it everyday must be like reliving the accident, making it very difficult to move beyond the event. If the wreckage cannot be relocated, wouldn’t it be more sensitive to have those mangled reminders tarped so they are not in plain sight? Being that the California Highway Patrol is a public service agency, it would behoove them to correct the situation as they become aware of the feelings of the citizens of Nevada County.
