Two presidents

One can only imagine the anxiety Bill Clinton must have felt following Ronald Reagan’s death about the obvious comparisons that will be made between the two presidencies. Clinton must also be filled with envy at the adulation heaped upon Reagan, knowing that at the time of his death, few will mourn his passing and he will be remembered as a president of little accomplishment and much political and sexual scandal, a wasted life of no particular value.

President Reagan will be forever remembered for saying, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.” President Clinton will be remembered for saying, “I did not have sex with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky, and I never asked anybody to lie, never.” Or perhaps, “It depends on what the meaning of is, is.”

Two presidents, but only one great leader.
