June 12: Cornerstone Place and Cline Winery. Tour of the unique gardens at Cornerstone, shopping in eclectic boutique shops and hosted lunch. Then across the highway to Cline for wine tasting, enjoy the stunning grounds, and see the scale models of all the California missions.

June 17-18: Floorplay at the El Dorado in Reno. Competitive professional ballroom dancing at its best in the showroom at the El Dorado. Includes dinner and breakfast buffets, transportation, and show.

Aug. 18: Six Flags Vallejo. Great price, bring the kids and grandkids.

Sept. 27-28: Candy Dance and Tahoe area fall foliage tour. Candy Dance is the largest craft show in Northern Nevada. Overnight at the Horizon Casino Resort at Stateline, then exploring the area to enjoy the fall colors.

Oct. 24: Apple Hill. Includes morning snack and BBQ lunch at High Hill.

Nov. 16: “South Pacific” performed at the Carson City Community Theater.

Dec. 13: The Nutcracker performed by the Sacramento Ballet Co. at the Sacramento Community Center Theater. Matinee performance.

June 29 – July 9: The Baltic Sea cruise sails roundtrip from Copenhagen, Denmark.

Nov. 10 – 20: The Mexican Riviera cruise sails roundtrip from San Francisco.

Nevada County Travel Club

June 11: Next regular luncheon meeting at 12:30 p.m. at the Grass Valley United Methodist Church, 236 So. Church Street.

Summer Shows at the Music Circus in Sacramento: All are matinees and we leave at noon.

July 10: “Sound of Music.”

July 17: “Gypsy.”

July 31: “Swing.”

Aug. 7: “My Fair Lady.”

Aug. 14: “Evita.”

Full payment is due for all shows at this time.

Sept. 10-17: “Along the Columbia River with Lewis and Clark.” A very interesting motorcoach tour to the Northwest to learn about the history of this very famous and exciting voyage. Begins in Portland and ends in Spokane. Todd Weber and his wife will lead and narrate this tour, and they are outstanding historians. Deposit now due. Full payment due in July.

June 24: Rosie the Riveter. World War II Home Front National Historical Park and tour of the SS Red Oak Victory.

July 14: Mothball Fleet. Aboard a yacht for first-hand look at the ships.

Aug. 30: River Cats Baseball. River Cats vs. Fresno, food, fireworks.

Oct. 25: Cruising the Petaluma River. Old Town Petaluma, three hour cruise aboard the Delphinus with historian.

September: Reno. Look for date next week.

March 21-April 1, 2009: Mexico’s Colonial Jewels. Mexico City, Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, Guadalajara, Morelia, seven UNESCO Heritage sites, and more. Spanish speaking escort. Airfare from Sacramento included.
