Traditions up in flames?

As one who moved away from Nevada County and found nirvana in the Far North, I’m distressed at what seems to be a sell-out of Nevada County values!

There’s a glimmer of hope in that the discharge of water from the Nevada City fire into the storm drains is being investigated.

But where’s the witch hunt?

Can’t someone be blamed for the decision to put the fire out and create all that polluted runoff!

Ah, the horns of a dilemma … let it burn and pollute the air? Put it out and pollute the water?

Where was the Nevada City Council when that environmental hair-splitting needed to be done? Couldn’t they have posted an emergency public hearing while the firefighters stood patiently by?

And now what? There’s water in the cellar hole! That makes it a wetland!

When can we expect the hearings and lawsuits? Dare anyone even think to issue a demolition or building permit until all the suits are settled?

Are all the great Nevada County traditions going up in flames?
