Tour for center upgrade slated

Miners Foundry Cultural Center in Nevada City could soon have nine additional bathrooms, a multipurpose room, new administrative offices and new windows. The trustees who run the nonprofit cultural center want to replace a large window installed in 1974 with six small windows.

On Wednesday, members of the Nevada City Planning Commission will tour the Spring Street building and invite the public to tag along. An application for the project is before the commission for review.

Wednesday’s tour starts at 4 p.m. at the foundry’s Stone Hall, 325 Spring St. For information on the architectural review public workshop, call 265-2496
