To support our troops:

Write. If you know anyone there, write to them. Soldiers say repeatedly how important this is to them.

Donate to Red Cross/Red Crescent. This is one of the few relief organizations left in Iraq. They offer supplies and shelter, and rebuild hospitals and orphanages. This decreases fear and anger on the part of Iraqis, and many soldiers have said how much positive action helps their morale. Funds were being stretched to the limit, but it is even more vital now, because of the hideous earthquake damage they must also react to. Earmark donations can be for Iraq at

Support USD Operation Phone Home,, (703- 908-6400, 1-(800) 876-7469).

The internet lists local organizations that help the troops’ families.

The government is our responsibility. Write and phone (writing is better) your state and federal congresspeople, for better, immediate, material troop support, especially armor. Press for proper treatment of prisoners, improper guard duty produces, Traumatic Stress Syndrome, and endangers our soldiers, if captured.

Support American rights at home. Work for the return of habeus corpus and against invasive ‘police’ procedures. (The Founding fathers already had security, and they traded it for freedom.)
