Tip of the iceberg

I just finished reading about the couple whose dog was attacked by two unleashed dogs down at the river. This incident is just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak.

We need to enforce the leash laws that already exist in the city areas, and change the county-area dog laws. It is pretty apparent that animal control needs more funding to be able to enforce these laws.

Up in Deer Creek Park (officially county land), we have far too many unleashed dogs. These “friendly” dogs threaten people walking their leashed dogs, create traffic hazards to drivers trying to avoid hitting them, and run down deer and other wildlife.

We need a county-wide solution. I am going to write a letter to the Board of Supervisors, stating my concerns about unleashed dogs, and I ask that anyone else who agrees to do the same.
