Tina Vernon for tax collector

I am a Democrat. But more importantly, I’m a voter who looks at candidates and asks if they possess integrity, wisdom and the skills needed to “get the job done” with the best possible outcome.

Jerry Brown and Barbara Boxer have served California well during their years of public service. On Nov. 2, I will cast my vote for both of them. They have what it takes to successfully continue the long, arduous task of bringing our country back from the edge of economic disaster we faced not long ago. They provide specific solutions not vacuous complaints.

Americans have become addicted to “quick fixes” – the 24-hour news cycle, the constant need for immediate results. I was troubled to read that Dai Meagher signed a document from ultra-conservative, anti-Obama, Grover Norquist’s Americans for Tax Reform. It is called the “Taxpayer Protection Pledge.”

I called Dai and asked why he did this and he told me he didn’t know what the organization was – “it was faxed to me.”

I want a county treasurer who will take the time to scrutinize every document he puts his name on. I will be voting for Tina Vernon in the upcoming election.
