Thomas is stoopid

I do thank The Union for publishing the two opposing columnists – Cal Thomas and Molly Ivins. The difference between them is not just politics (whatever that means). Thomas is, as we used to say in Brooklyn, stoopid. He encloses his discussion to preclude discussion. There’s no argument because God is on his side.

There is much room for reasoned discussion and concern and action to stave off the Bush Social Security tsumani. But that’s for an article, not a letter.

As an aside, your food column needs a lot of work. I don’t expect Craig Claibourne, James Beard or Julia Childs, since they’re all dead. But I cannot stand the “hello foodies” from this columnist.

One more thing. it was good to see the Sacramento Bee acknowledge that Nevada County exists. And for that, I guess we can pat ourselves on the back.
