The Union should put out two versions

Pity the poor Union. With a publisher whose No. 1 metric is “how funny is it?” and an editor who is reputedly funny but is against name-calling (The ninny! No doubt a tree-hugging peacenik) and in favor of depth, knowledge and reasoned argument, the paper can’t help but suffer a major identity crisis.

There’s an obvious (and funny) solution: segregation. Let the publisher put out an entertainment paper (“The Divisor” – guest columns by Jerry Springer, “dueling Republicans” video on the Web site), and let the editor put out a newspaper (“The Union”) focusing on rational discourse and examination of issues facing the county, and let your readers decide which they want to subscribe to.
