The Union reporter is bush league

Anytime there is a homicide in the community, there is always a concern for the decedent’s family and friends, as well as other involved parties. There are various types of media that report the story. Some styles of reporting are purely professional and others are strictly bush league. In this case I am referring to your reporter, Doug Mattson.

In recent homicides, Mr. Mattson has gone out of his way to report that certain involved parties are the sons of local law enforcement officers. In all of his stories, I have yet to see where these law enforcement officers played any part in the incident.

These officers had nothing to do with the stories at hand and Mr. Mattson should know it. I wonder how the story would read if the individual involved was the son or daughter of a local doctor, plumber or, God forbid, related to the editor or publisher of The Union.

Get a clue, Mr. Mattson. Your style of reporting is bush league; some people might even call it amateur.
