The Union could use a proofreader

“Read a good book? Let us now” (The Union, October 23, 2002)

Let us now praise all good books….

I now it’s tiresome, but I am now, once again, after lo these many times, applying for the obviously unpaid position of proofreader for The Union. My credentials are simple: I’m a person, and I now how to spell. And after a little study on the computer, now I now how to communicate with SpelChek. It doesn’t take long to now that the machine doesn’t now the difference between words that sound alike but spell different. Or spell alike but sound different. Or even sound different and spell different. But hey, if it looks like a word to SpelChek, go with it. I did. Now I now what can happen. But if it bombs, well, who’s to now, it can always be the computer’s fault.
