The Clerk-Recorder’s Office has never been

The Clerk-Recorder’s Office has never been in better shape, thanks to County Clerk-Recorder Lorraine Jewett-Burdick.

Before Lorraine, there was a six-week backlog of documents to be recorded and some laws were basically ignored. We used to struggle and incur overtime to record 150 documents in a day.

Lorraine improved workflow systems and created a professional, business-like environment. With the same number of employees, we now routinely record 250 documents or more – without wasting tax dollars on overtime. State laws governing recording are now followed consistently. That helps protect the most valuable possession most people have – their home and property.
