Terrific opportunity

The Nevada County Resource Conservation District recently won a Department of Conservation grant to hire a watershed coordinator for the Bear River Watershed. Wolf Creek and the Bear River are both in the watershed and on the state’s impaired water bodies’ list. The hiring of Lesa Osterholm for this position could be the start to remedying this situation.

On Aug. 26 at 1:30 at the Higgins Corner CDF station, the Bear River Watershed group will meet. I invite everyone who has an interest in the Bear River watershed and these two largely ignored resources to attend this meeting. Hopefully, at a later date, meetings can be held in the evening so more interested parties can attend.
