Taxpayers’ money wasted

A three-day, two-night “retreat” for the county department heads? In Placer County?

I don’t think so. Let me count the ways:

1. Let’s see – We hear “shop locally.”

2. Two nights? Have they all lost their driver’s licenses? Let them drive daily if they can’t find a suitable place here, which I can’t imagine.

3. $18,000-$30,000? How many local children could receive food and child care with this money?

It seems to me that the powers that would like to be in this county have way too much taxpayer money to spend.

Also, Mr. Gaebler’s arrogance is beyond belief. Who gives him the power to throw out numbers that have not been finalized yet?

Lastly, Board of Supervisors: If they gave the OK to go ahead with this, they really need to rethink your priorities as to what is beneficial for Nevada County.
