Take care on Highway 174

Since traffic on State Highway 174 has increased greatly in the past few years, I would like to see drivers educated about the reasons why exceeding the speed limit of 45 mph and passing on double-yellow lines is especially dangerous on this country road.

Highway 174 runs through a residential area; some drivers may not realize that. Residents are finding it increasingly difficult to enter the highway from their driveways.

In addition to endangering themselves and others, it is a deer-crossing area. If a deer crosses the path of an vehicle driving over the 45 mph speed limit, it is almost a forgone conclusion that they will collide.

Again, I don’t think that drivers are as aware as they need to be about the dangers of exceeding the speed limit and rules of driving.
