Surprise. Your mother’s maiden name may be available

Surprise. Your mother’s maiden name may be available on the Internet for anyone interested in using it for fraud and identity theft, thanks to the incumbent Clerk-Recorder Jewett-Burdick. It is part of the index to birth records in Nevada County. There’s no law requiring it. The Clerk-Recorder could easily omit that information from the index. In fact, the governor ordered state agencies to stop selling such private information. But the Clerk-Recorder hasn’t taken the hint. Feeling uncomfortable? I should think so. Vote for Kevin Waggoner and restore common sense to the Clerk-Recorder’s office.
