Support Measure K

The Nevada City Fire Department will be seeking your support of Measure K in the upcoming election. It is the goal of the NCFD to use the funds raised by this measure to provide 24-hour emergency medical and fire response to the citizens of Nevada City. Currently, the city is covered by paid staff between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., thus leaving the station unstaffed the remaining 15 hours of the day. Unfortunately, almost 50 percent of the call volume falls during these unstaffed hours. Nevada City residents would be asked to pay a total of $36 per year for 24-hour protection (still the lowest assessed district in the county).
