Supes appoint new public health officer

The Nevada County Board of Supervisors has appointed Dr. Kenneth Cutler as the new county public health officer.

He takes over the position as the county’s leading physician from Dr. Charles Johnson, who is retiring after three years.

Cutler graduated from the University of California/San Francisco Medical School and completed his pediatric residency in Oakland in 1992. An experienced and respected pediatrician currently practicing in the Truckee and Reno areas, Cutler will complete his master’s degree in public health through Emory University this year.

Cutler will maintain an office in the Joseph Center in Truckee and will work two days each week at the Eric Rood Administrative Center in Nevada City.
