Sunday recital honors Jean Dunning

Tegan Harpainter, Caitlin Sakaue and Lyell Sakaue will be among the local music students from the Music Teacher’s Association of California performing in a recital Sunday in Grass Valley.

Proceeds will go to the teacher’s association scholarship fund in honor of the late Jean Dunning, the association’s past president. Dunning was also involved in numerous activities for Music in the Mountains, including serving as chair of the education committee and director of the Young Musicians Competition for many years.

Tickets at the door for Sunday’s 1:30 p.m. concert are $10 for adults and $5 for students.

The concert will be at Peace Lutheran Church, 828 W. Main St.
