Soroptimists offer grants for school

Head-of-household women seeking financial assistance to return to school can apply for the Women’s Opportunity Award, a project of Soroptimist International of Grass Valley.

Soroptimist International of Grass Valley will provide a $1,000 cash grant to the award recipient, who will advance to the Sierra Nevada region level, where two $3,000 and one $5,000 recipient will be selected.



The program culminates with three $10,000 finalist awards.

Applications are available at the ROP Office, Phillips School of Massage, Sierra College and Nevada Union High School, or by contacting Rhonda Harmon-Peterson at 272-2727. Application forms may also be downloaded from the Soroptimist




International Web site at http://www.soroptimist.org/programs and submitted to P.O. Box 663, Grass Valley 95945.

Applications must be returned to Soroptimist International of Grass Valley by Dec. 15.
