Some ideas for mural

I respect most art and especially the talents of our chosen muralist, Mr. Pugh. Just a few lines of interest from a personal standpoint. The original mural on the Del Oro Theatre has been gone for a while. I didn’t realize how much I missed the old thing. When driving on the freeway casting an eye in that direction, I find it brings a feeling of an old friend not with us anymore. That feeling has increased to a point of sadness for me. Frankly, if we could have some of that back, it would make many smile.

I envision an “up to date” gold panner, vibrant colors, larger than life along with the rest of our history in Grass Valley … our Chinese and Black American neighbors who toiled on this land. I know one of those families personally.

Maybe Mr. Pugh could reconsider his ideas and investigate our history more thoroughly and present us with a smashing likeness that we all will recognize.
