Long-term projects

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from west of Auburn to Colfax: Work continues on a $40.4 million project to:




• Rehabilitate the roadway utilizing rubberized asphalt concrete

• Rehabilitate the Applegate on/off ramps

• Upgrade traffic operation system elements

The estimated completion date is fall 2006. Work on this project has been suspended for the winter.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from west of Gold Run to Emigrant Gap: Work continues on a $33.1 million project to:

• Rehabilitate the roadway and chain on/off areas utilizing Portland concrete cement

• Extend a truck climbing lane west of Blue Canyon Interchange

• Upgrade traffic operation system elements

The estimated completion date is fall 2006. Work on this project has been suspended for the winter.

Short-term projects

State Route 20 (Nevada County) from the Yuba County line to Interstate 80: Motorists can expect the east and westbound No. 1 lane closed at various locations from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to clean ditches.

State Route 49 (Nevada/Yuba Counties) from the Placer County Line to Marysville Road: Motorists can expect various north and southbound lanes closed at various locations from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to install guardrail.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from the Hallbom Road under-crossing (Werner Road) to the Ophir Road under-crossing: Motorists can expect the westbound No. 3 lane closed from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do guardrail repair.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from the State Route 193 Junction to Ophir Road: Motorists can expect the westbound No. 3 lane closed from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to clear brush.

Interstate 80 (Placer/Nevada Counties) from the Secret Town over-crossing to Farad: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane closures from 8:30a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do bridge repairs.

State Route 174 (Nevada County) from the Placer County line to the State Route 20 Junction: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to clean ditches.
