Sierra College board

Dave Creek, a candidate for re-election to the Sierra College board, has a deep interest in education and in what is best for the community. I’d like to ask for your vote for his re-election. He has served on the board for the last eight years, and has helped the college maintain a healthy financial position while working to improve its educational programs and expanding facilities throughout its sprawling district. Dave was also a CEO at a high tech manufacturing firm, was in the U.S. armed forces, and earned an MBA from Harvard. Let’s keep the college a great institution by re-electing Dave Creek.

Nancy Palmer is seeking re-election as a trustee to the Sierra College board. I have worked with her on numerous fund-raising events. She has been active in Friends of Hospice, working at Breakfast in the Park, and has been chairman of Tree of Love. She has organized fashion shows for various organizations in the community and they are really terrific events. Nancy is a fantastic organizer and tireless worker and has brought that same level of energy and resourcefulness to the Sierra College board. I encourage the voters to re-elect Nancy Palmer, trustee of the Sierra College board.

I want to tell you about Nancy Palmer, who is again running for Sierra College Board of Trustees member in Area 6, Grass Valley. I have worked closely with Nancy on projects and events at Sierra College and have witnessed first hand her hard work, care, concern, and knowledge of what it takes to be a great Sierra College Board member. Nancy Palmer has proven herself to be faithful to the students and taxpayers she represents. I hope the community will stand behind this wonderful and dedicated candidate and vote for Nancy Palmer for Sierra College Board of Trustees’ member.

When you go to the polls to vote, how many candidates can you choose that are totally ethical, dedicated to serve, have no self-interests and are truly nice people? This November, you will have that chance. Nancy Palmer is not a typical politician. In fact, she is probably just the opposite. She has served on the Sierra College board for only one reason – to make Sierra College the best educational institution in the state. Vote with confidence and re-elect Nancy Palmer to the Sierra College board.

For the past eight years, Dave Creek has, in his role as Sierra College Trustee, provided the effective leadership required to expand the college and improve its curriculum. Dave works hard to ensure that Sierra College provides the highest quality education for its students and as a result, the college has earned numerous awards for its academic excellence.

Our public institutions don’t run themselves. It takes dedicated individuals like Dave Creek, who invest their time and energy to ensure our tax dollars are wisely spent. We need to re-elect Dave Creek as Sierra College Trustee to maintain the college’s standard of excellence.

Stan Pluta will make a great trustee for Sierra College. Stan plans to create a work-study and internship program that will give students real-world experience in their chosen profession, and will give businesses access to skilled labor, which is what our community really needs in this current economic situation.

Because Stan is an outsider to the education establishment, he is not tainted by special-interest groups. He will put our students’ college education first, and that’s why I will vote for Stan Pluta for Sierra Joint Community College District Trustee, Area 4, on Election Day.
