Shouldn’t forget to remember presidents

Are we becoming so callused that the President’s Day holiday has only become another day off for people? We honor Martin Luther King, and rightfully so, but to not even mention Abraham Lincoln’s memory on this holiday is a disgrace, especially since he was instrumental in abolishing slavery.

There was nothing in your paper with respect to this great man, as well as George Washington, nor was there any mention of what facilities, etc., would be closed in his honor.

Our children and grandchildren will never respect or honor any of our great people or understand the history of their greatness unless the media and our schools keep them educated and informed.
