Shine’s signs

“Protect the innocent. Punish the guilty,” say the signs advertising Ray Shine. But something’s wrong here. Let’s think about it. What do we want from our judges? Aren’t judges supposed to be objective, fair, and follow case law?

Now I don’t know Ray Shine, but I do know that I don’t want a judge deciding to “protect the innocent and punish the guilty.” That’s what juries are for. Or should we just give up on the jury system and let Ray Shine decide?
