Seven Hills student wins Lions Club peace poster contest

Sarah Bowman, an eighth grade student at Seven Hills School, has won the Nevada City Lions Club Peace Poster Contest. Her poster is among more than 325,000 entries submitted worldwide in the 15th annual Lion’s International Peace Poster Contest. Lions Clubs International is sponsoring the contest to emphasize the importance of world peace to young people everywhere.

My poster shows the ripple effect that peace could have on people and countries throughout the world”, the 13-year-old from Nevada City said. The poster was selected by James McQuiston for its originality, artistic merit and portrayal of the contest theme, “Dream of Peace.”

Bowman and several other student participants will be honored for their participation by the Nevada City Lions Club at Seven Hills School.
