Series set for takeoff

“On the Launchpad” is the Rev. Laurie Costenborder-Jordan’s topic Sunday as she continues her series on transitions at the Sierra Center for Positive Living, a Religious Science church. The service begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Banner Grange.

The Ralph Williams Combo will perform on saxophone, drums, bass, keyboards and background vocals. Jerusha Horlick, a young singer who “cut her teeth on country music,” is guest vocalist.

Meditation services are at the church office Wednesdays at 7 p.m., preceded by a silent meditation at 6:40. The church office is in the Yuba River Professional Building, 12059 Nevada City Highway, Suite 210, Grass Valley, next to Lyon’s.

Sierra Center for Positive Living meets at 10:30 a.m. Sundays at the Banner Grange, 12629 McCourtney Road, 1.4 miles from the fairgrounds’ main gate. Call 274-1018 for more information or directions.
