School events target smoking

Clear Creek School will sponsor two days of events to encourage students to not smoke.

On Tuesday, a puppet show will be presented to primary grades emphasizing the negative effects that smoking has on health.

Wednesday will feature an appearance by TEAM 02 from noon to 2:30 p.m. TEAM 02 is a customized van and trailer with graphics and a state-of-the-art sound and video system that has attracted crowds at tobacco education activities across the state.

At the TEAM 02 vehicle, students can test their knowledge of tobacco facts for a chance to win T-shirts with designs from the popular statewide anti-tobacco billboard campaign, “Bob, I’ve got emphysema” or “Mind if I smoke … Care if I die?”; and TEAM 02 baseball caps with an anti-tobacco message on the back.
