Nell Scannon and Benjamin Painter, both of Grass Valley, have announced their engagement.

The future bride is the daughter of Dr. Patrick J. Scannon of San Francisco and Belinda and Phil Carville of Chicago Park. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California, Davis. She is the vice president of Communication and Outreach at Loma Rica Ranch in Grass Valley.



The future groom is the son of Roxanne Freitas of Grass Valley and Dennis and Patti Painter of Nevada City. He is a graduate of Nevada Union High School and studied business at California State University, San Diego. He is employed at SPD Market in Nevada City.

The couple plans to be married in June 2008.
