Satellite libraries open in Penn Valley, BRHS

The Nevada County Library system has opened two satellite branches, one in the Wildwood Commercial Center in Penn Valley and one in the Bear River High School Library near Lake of the Pines.

The Penn Valley library is located at 11336 Pleasant Valley Road in the Wildwood Commercial Center. It will have two computers with Internet access, as well as a collection of reading materials for children and adults.

The Bear River library is located at 11130 Magnolia Road in the high school library. The public will be able to use the library after school hours. Patrons will have access to books from both collections, and will be able to use eight computers with Internet access.

Patrons at both satellites will be able to place and pick up holds on books from any Nevada County library branch, and to return materials checked out from any branch. Both libraries will need volunteers to help create and maintain the collections.

Bear River is open to the public Wednesdays from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Penn Valley is open Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The ribbon cutting ceremony for Penn Valley is at 10 a.m. Saturday.

For information or to volunteer, call the Nevada County Library at 265-1541.
