Adults 55 or older are invited to share their time and talents through the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.

Accident, liability and excess auto insurance are provided; mileage reimbursement is available.

Call RSVP at 271-0255 weekdays (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) or stop by 471 Sutton Way, No. 202, in Grass Valley.



Cashiers/taggers




Thrift store cashiers are needed for all shifts including the exciting Thursday 1/2-off clothes sales from 5 to 7 p.m. Help is also needed tagging and steaming clothes.

Drivers

Volunteer drivers are needed to transport clients to doctor appointments, grocery shopping and adult day care.

Book shelver

The library is in need of volunteers to shelve books. Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System is helpful, but staff will train volunteers. The ability to stoop, bend, and lift 10 pounds is required.

Meals on Wheels Driver

Drivers are needed on either a weekly or “on call” basis to deliver hot lunches to homebound seniors. Volunteers will receive a set route and mileage reimbursement for delivery time.

Minutes taker

An advocacy group for the disabled needs a volunteer to take minutes at monthly board meetings and produce a draft of those minutes. Good writing skills and grammar are required. Meeting time is the fourth Wednesday of the month from 4 to 6 p.m.
