Adults 55 and older are invited to share their time and talents with nonprofits, public agencies and schools. Accident, liability and excess auto insurance are provided, and mileage reimbursement is available, for people older than 55. A local animal rescue nonprofit needs a bookkeeper to help with QuickBooks entries and the preparation of checks. Bookkeeping experience and familiarity with QuickBooks is required. Days and times are flexible.

Storytelling Volunteers

A variety of volunteer duties are available during the Sierra Storytelling Festival to be held in late July. Shift lengths will be two to three hours, and times of day are varied. Call to sign up for this fun event.


A Grass Valley convalescent home would like one or two volunteers for their Pamper Parlor. Volunteers require hair styling skills; no hair cutting is needed. This position is for Tuesdays between 9 a.m. and noon.
