Adults 55 and older are invited to share their time and talents with Nevada County nonprofits, public agencies and schools. Accident, liability and excess auto insurance are provided, and mileage reimbursement is available for people older than 55.

If you are interested in any of the following positions, call RSVP at 271-0255 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays or visit 471 Sutton Way, Suite No. 202, Grass Valley.

Graphic designer



Assistance is needed designing invitations, flyers and posters for a nonprofit working in support of animals.




Book buddy

A Book buddy is needed for a library patron who lives off of Highway 49, two miles from Combie and Wolf roads. Book buddies become a friend to someone who is housebound and cannot get to the library. The buddy selects books, tapes and videos for their friend and delivers them to their home once or twice a month.

Special events

coordinator

A nonprofit counseling center needs a coordinator for one or more upcoming events. The volunteer should have organization, communication and community networking skills. These activities can be done from home.

Filing

There are many nonprofit agencies that would benefit with some assistance with their filing. These are very flexible positions, and volunteers can pick the time and days that work best for them.

Friendly visitor

A Friendly visitor is needed to go see a lady in downtown Grass Valley. This is a social visit of an hour a week and helps to keep seniors who have become isolated connected to our community. Call Jackie at 271-0255.
