Call today to join this active group of volunteers. Receptionists are needed daily to answer phones and greet the public. Help is also needed at special events and to serve at the noon lunch program. (lunch provided).

It’s winter and volunteers are needed to cut, split, stack, and deliver wood.

Creative Cook

Create recipes with items used in a food distribution program and prepare samples for a group of willing volunteers.

Information and

Assistance Specialist

Provide information, referrals, and assistance to people of all ages with the use of a database of Nevada County resources. Volunteers needed to be able to communicate well over the phone, be active listeners, think on your feet and be experienced with the operation of a PC.

Schools throughout our county are requesting volunteers to work with individual or small groups of students in the first and second grades. If you would like to hear more about this opportunity, call now and we will connect you with the school closest to you.

Thrift Stores

The thrift stores of Nevada County are truly gold mines. People travel from near and far to shop at our many unique thrift shops, which create a need for more volunteer help. Each store has something special to offer and their fund-raising efforts support many important programs throughout Nevada County.

Drivers

The home delivered meals program is urgently in need of drivers. Two hours of your time once a week can help to keep this important program on the road.

Secretary

The Elder-Care Providers Coalition is in need of a secretary to take minutes at their monthly meeting the second Tuesday of each month at noon.

If you are 55 years or older, sign up with Retired and Senior Volunteers Program to help our community. Accident, liability and excess auto insurance provided. Mileage reimbursement available. Call 271-0255, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., weekdays. Or stop by 714 W. Main St., Suite 2, Grass Valley, 95945.
