Adults 55 and older are invited to share their time and talents with Nevada County non-profits, public agencies and schools. Accident, liability and excess auto insurance are provided, and mileage reimbursement is available. If you are interested in any of the following positions, call RSVP at 271-0255 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays or visit 471 Sutton Way, Suite No. 202, Grass Valley.

Drivers

Help is needed delivering noontime meals to homebound seniors for two hours one day a week; mileage is reimbursed.

Friendly visitors

Volunteers visit isolated seniors for one to two hours of socializing each week.

Ceramics assistance

Help is needed cleaning greenware and detailing ceramic pieces for convalescent home residents.

Cashier

Friendly cashiers are needed for three-to-four-hour shifts on Thursdays and Fridays. Other tasks include working with the public and helping around the thrift store. A volunteer with a truck or trailer is needed to pick up donated items.

Drivers needed

The Friendship Club offers a place, activities and opportunities for disadvantaged teen girls to grow, but 75 percent of our girls can’t get to our location without a volunteer to drive them. This requires a short-term time commitment. We will notify you by e-mail or postal mail of the dates and times when drivers are needed, so you can choose the assignments that fit your schedule.
