Roosevelt award given to Nevada City woman

Mary Tucker of Nevada City has received the annual Eleanor Roosevelt Lifetime Achievement Award from the Nevada County Democratic Women’s Club.

Tucker has long been active in social and political affairs. Since moving to Nevada County from Los Angeles in 1983, Tucker has been the county’s representative on the Area 4 Agency on Aging, served on the county’s Adult Services Council, and is on the Long Term Care Integration Council. She has also been active in Democratic Party affairs.



The award is named after Eleanor Roosevelt, who was active in many social causes.
