Robin Sutherland’s attack on local Fire Safe Plans

Robin Sutherland’s attack on local Fire Safe Plans disturbs me. Last week at the Penn Valley Community Association debate, Sutherland criticized Supervisor Izzy Martin for approving a neighborhood Fire Safe Plan for Round Mountain.

I just don’t understand Sutherland’s opposition to this Fire Safe Plan. It was carefully designed to protect homes and firefighters’ lives – that’s why it was supported by firefighters and local property owners. The only opposition came from a few developers who don’t want the added cost of stricter fire safety standards.

Izzy Martin is putting fire safety above developers’ profits. She’s earned my vote.
