Road worries

As a resident of the La Barr Meadows-Dog Bar neighborhood, I want to share my concern regarding the traffic conditions on those two roads. In the last three years, traffic and speed have increased considerably and safety has been compromised. There have been horrendous accidents and near misses on the roads, and several have resulted in fatalities.

With the increasing populations along Dog Bar and in Alta Sierra, there is no relief in sight. Adding the proposed South-Hill Villages development will make the traffic a nightmare. With shoppers and residents from that development, the intersection at McKnight Way and La Barr Meadows will not only be in permanent gridlock but also an increased accident site.

I hope that the planning commission and transportation authorities will give serious consideration to managing the safety and traffic conditions at the La Barr Meadows and Dog Bar roads before approving any more new building permits that will impact that corridor.
