Road association agreements class set

The Federation of Neighborhood Associations will host a workshop on private road association agreements in Nevada County – reasons, agreements, codes and cases – Tuesday, June 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. Registration is at the door from 6:45 to 7 p.m. at the Superintendent of Schools Office, 112 Nevada City Highway, Nevada City, at the corner of Ridge Road and Nevada City Highway.

A panel consisting of an attorney, an insurance agent and two neighborhood leaders will discuss issues and respond to the audience’s questions.

Workshop organizers Nancy Weber and Marty Pezzaglia, in conjunction with local professionals and groups with successful road-association agreements, have developed a guide for both setting up and refining agreements. It includes “how-to guides” and samples of road agreements, liabilities and case law that will be distributed to workshop participants. Additional copies may be purchased as noted above.

“We know there are many neighborhoods scratching their heads about how to form an association to manage private roads, and this workshop is in response to repeated requests,” Pezzaglia said.

A $25 donation includes a workbook. There is a $5 entrance for additional members of the same neighborhood who share a manual. Additional manuals may be purchased from FoNA for a $20 donation, plus postage.
