RETIRED AND SENIOR VOLUNTEERS PROGRAM

If you are 55 years or older, sign up with Retired and Senior Volunteers Program to help our community. Accident, liability and excess auto insurance provided. Mileage reimbursement available.

Senior Center

Join this active group of volunteers. Receptionists are needed to answer phones and greet the public. Help is also needed at special events and to serve at the noon lunch program. (lunch provided).




Senior Wood Program

It’s winter and volunteers are needed to cut, split, stack, and deliver wood.

Creative Cook

Create recipes with items used in a food distribution program and prepare samples for a group of willing volunteers.

Classroom Volunteer

Schools throughout our county are requesting volunteers to work with individual or small groups of students in the first and second grades. If you are interested, call now and we will connect you with the school closest to you.

Thrift Stores

The thrift stores of Nevada County are truly gold mines. People travel from near and far to shop at our many unique thrift shops, which creates a need for more volunteer help. Each store has something special to offer, and their fund-raising efforts support many programs throughout Nevada County.

Drivers

The home-delivery meals program is in dire need of drivers. Two hours of your time just once a week can help to keep this important program on the road.

Secretary

The Elder-Care Providers Coalition is in need of a secretary to take minutes at their monthly meeting the second Tuesday of the month at noon.

Publisher

Help is needed producing a nationally read quarterly newsletter. Board members of the Independence Trail will furnish articles. A volunteer publisher is needed to create the newsletter.
