RETIRED and SENIOR VOLUNTEERS PROGRAM

If you are 55 years or older, sign up with Retired and Senior Volunteers Program to help our community. Accident, liability and excess auto insurance provided. Mileage reimbursement available. Call 271-0255, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., weekdays. Or stop by 714 W. Main St., Suite 2, Grass Valley, 95945.

Patient support



Provide respite for caregivers of terminally ill patients, companionship, errands, etc. Also needed is certified massage therapists, hairdressers and barbers.

Enter data on Fridays for three hours.

Friendly visitor/telephone

reassurance

Make a difference in the world of someone who has become isolated due to the loss of a loved one or because they can no longer drive. Visitors and phone friends are carefully matched; ongoing training is provided. One hour a week or the time it takes to make a phone call. Call Joan for more information.

Technology lab aide

PC background preferred to work with Microsoft Office 2000 and Windows 98/2000 with high school students and teachers.

Public Authority Board

Applications are being accepted for candidates for the Public Authority Board. Candidates should have a strong background in law, accounting, certified professional secretary, business and or nonprofit boards. Assist in the distribution of funds for in-home support of daily living activities for seniors and the disabled.

HelpLine

At the countywide Information and Assistance office, answer phones and provide information to connect people to services. Computer training is provided. Afternoon shifts 12:30-4 p.m.

Drivers

Transport clients to appointments, shopping and other destinations locally. Also transport clients to out-of-county medical trips. Use your vehicle and be reimbursed for mileage.

Firehouse No. 1 Museum

On Saturday and Sunday, greet visitors and share local history. Training is provided; a stipend covers meals and parking.
