Resolution that supports abortion offensive

The tragic decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in Roe vs. Wade was deplored on Jan. 22 by all who defended the right to life even of the unborn. Bishop Garcia celebrated a solemn Mass for souls of millions of unborn babies aborted during those 31 years. The Gospel of Life offers more compassionate solutions to life’s problems. A huge pro-life rally at the Capitol proclaimed the sanctity of human life and called for an end to taxpayer-funded abortions.

All of us have been offended by the resolution passed by the state Assembly urging Americans to “celebrate abortion.” All Democrats and two Republicans voted for the measure. Seven Republicans spoke against the resolution. Dennis Mountjoy, R-Arcadia, said: “It’s a shame that we are celebrating Roe versus Wade. We ought to be in memoriam. Since 1973, 43 million unborn Americans have been aborted in this country. It is a genocide.”

Researcher David C. Reardon found out that “most women have many regrets about their abortions, even if they believe it to have been their ‘only choice.’ This is why they don’t support the radical agenda of pro-abortion special- interest groups. They’ve been there, done that, and hated it.”
