Truth Worship Center

“To Know Our God and to Love Him” is the theme for special services at Truth Worship Center, which is located at 1784 Ridge Road, across from the Nevada Union High School.

Friday will begin this series at 7 p.m., also on Saturday at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served after each service.



Sunday morning worship starts at 10 a.m. The special speaker will continue to minister. Sunday school is offered for all children and young people.

The Sunday evening celebration service will begin at 6 p.m. The special service on “Knowing Our God and Loving Him” will continue. Refreshments will be served after the evening service. Tuesday evening Bible Study is at 7 p.m.

Mountain Stream Meditation Center

Mountain Stream Meditation Center, a Buddhist meditation group, is offering a five-week introductory meditation class in Auburn. The class is schedule for Mondays, April 18-May 16, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., at the Sierra Foothills Unitarian Universalist Church, 190 Finley St. in Auburn. The classes include practice and instruction in insight meditation, the form of meditation taught by Jon Kabat-Zinn in the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program. $30 donation.

Healing Rooms of Nevada County

Healing Rooms of Nevada County are open Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Living Well Medical Clinic, 113 Presley Way. We pray for healing for the body, soul and spirit. Everyone is welcome, whether you attend church or not. No appointment is necessary and there is no charge.

North San Juan United Methodist will have worship on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Dr. Judson O. Gears, pastor, will be preaching on “The Lord is my shepherd.” They will share a church potluck dinner on Sunday at 4 p.m. Tuesday at 10 a.m. there is a Bible study at the church. The community is invited.

Downieville United Methodist Church

Downieville United Methodist Church will have worship on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Dr. Judson O. Gears, pastor, will be preaching on “The Lord is my Shepherd.” The baptism of Taylor Jeannette Day will be celebrated on Saturday, April 23, at noon. The community is invited.

Sierra City Community Church

Sierra City Community Church (United Methodist) will have worship on Sunday at noon Dr. Judson O. Gears, pastor, will be preaching on “The Lord is my Shepherd.” The community is welcome.
