Red Cross offers instructor training

The Western Nevada County Chapter of the American Red Cross is offering its Fall 2002 Instructor Training course in order to meet the growing need for volunteer first aid, CPR and automated external defibrillation instructors in Nevada County.

The basic instructor course has been expanded to include needed training for CPR and first aid.

The fall instructor course is a total of 38 hours long and includes the pre-course CPR/FA/AED skills class, “Fundamentals of Instructor Training,” course delivery and practice sessions.

The class will run a combination of weekend days and weekday nights from Sept. 19 through Oct. 5. Call the chapter for detailed dates and times.

Instructor candidates must be a minimum age of 17. A $75 fee applies and covers all required materials, and is partially refundable upon teaching at the chapter. Pre-registration is required; deadline is Thursday. Call the chapter at 272-3265 for more information.
