Red Cross offers course for volunteers

The Western Nevada County Chapter of the American Red Cross is providing a class called Family Services: Providing Emergency Assistance, Saturday, Jan. 11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The class provides the background and skills required to be a Red Cross disaster volunteer and deliver emergency assistance to clients during disasters. This class addresses one of the many areas through which American Red Cross disaster volunteers can serve.



The prerequisite course, Introduction to Disaster Services, is available for home study and can be picked up at the Chapter House at 144 Hughes Road. Training is free of charge.

Anyone interested in becoming a Red Cross disaster volunteer should call 272-3265 for information and preregistration
