Generous donations from local Rotary Clubs have helped 17 Gold County Telecare buses buy custom wheelchair lap belts and grocery cart tie-downs.

The 49er Breakfast Rotary Club of Nevada City and the Rotary District 5190 each gave $2,000 for the project. Dave Robinson, a 49er Rotarian, helped install the new equipment in the buses at his automotive service business.

Gold Country Telecare buses cater to more than 1,300 senior citizens and people with disabilities.

“The new accessories are making travel and errands safer and easier for Telecare’s growing number of clients,” says Phil McGuire, interim director with Gold Country Telecare.
